Born in the heart of Colorado Springs, Colorado Mountain Bourbon Whiskey is Axe and the Oak Distillery’s flagship spirit. Axe and the Oak uses grains from Colorado in their spirits, just like Meier uses wood from Colorado in our skis. There's another, more musical connection as well.
On the back of the bottle, you will find the batch number, bottle number, and “tunes.” The tunes section is dedicated to the musician or band that the distillery team was listening to while bottling that particular bottle. Great music runs in Axe and the Oak's roots through and through. Meier's tune shop, the House of Tunes, was named for Meiers deep relationships with many Colorado and international bands. With similarities like this, we just had to team up!
This Axe and the Oak snowboard is made on Meier's popular "Native" model:
The Native pays homage to the first inhabitants of Colorado. Inspired by the Corsair plane, the V rocker in the center of the board engages in firm conditions while still allowing for soft float in powder. Riders find this hyper unique design performing well all over the state (and beyond!) in every condition from icy early season groomers, mid-winter pow and spring slush alike.
What it looks like: V rocker with unlimited possibilities. Camber that engages when you need it, while the subtle edges of the V disengage when you don't (like pow).
What it’s for: Riders wanting one board to take them everywhere. The unique rocker provides stability on firm groomers and steep, narrow couloirs but rides on top of the holy grail of knee-deep fresh pow.
