There's a Little Hoss in All of Us

Be in charge wherever you go with these “turny” big mountain hard pack freeride skis. Built for rippers, these freeride skis need speed to turn. The harder you push them, the better they will perform! These all mountain skis can charge in any situation the mountain can throw down.

All of our skis are handmade in Denver, CO at the Meier Craft Skiery and are backed by a 3-Year warranty. Base and sidewall color on ski may vary.

This ski is part of our Secret Stash build-to-order collection and ships in 3-4 weeks. The secret stash isn't sitting in the cupboard waiting for love - we're gonna build it fresh, just for you.

Local Nod

The biggest bull on the range can't be contained. Around the shop we call this the "big dude's turny ski". It likes speed to turn, but it's oh-so-sweet.

Exceeded Expectations!!

Was skiing Nordica Enforcer 100 (193). Great ski but too aggressive and heavy for me other than on hard pack groomers. Ted (Meier owner) recommended the Big Hoss 104 (191) for me. Skied at Mammoth 4 days, including one storm day with 3”- 6” powder stashes. Big Hoss skis are lighter and more responsive than Enforcers. Amazing in all conditions. Led to higher confidence on the steeps, in the moguls and through the trees! My concerns on how a lighter ski would handle high speeds were quickly allayed with multiple 50+ mph runs and the Big Hoss’s were tight and no chatter. Legs felt significantly better at the end of each long day of skiing due to the lighter weight and less effort necessary to turn. Highly recommend for any large skier. (I’m 6’10”, 245 lbs)

Great Powder Ski

Good surface area but lighter than other powder skis, Turn like butter. Love them for mogul fields.

Truly Amazing

I came from a pair of Quickdraws. IMO these do everything the Quickdraw does but better. I've yet to ski them on a powder day but even on bullet-proof ice these handled phenomenally. All intermediate and above skiers will love these, guaranteed.

Updated - 2021/22 season review

Updating my I initial review from end of 2020 season since only had one day on them but 21/22 put them to the test. Ski’d the Big Hoss in all conditions and simply put, it rips! Mounted with 22 Design Axl binding and let them loose on some nice 10” plus days and the excelled, actually took them out few more times than my traditional powder ski. Very responsive in the bumps and can really open up on groomers but excelled days after a storm where you have variable conditions . Went with 176 and can really flip these around in the bumps effortlessly. Wanted a one ski solution to do everything, added skins to the ski last season to let them ride in backcountry Thanks Dan and Meier for great service and look forward to another great season in Rockies on the BIg Hoss!

Amazing wood core stability

I've demoed a lot of skis this year, and the fact that these are wood core skis are baffling. There is zero chatter when making high speed turns, and plenty of other skis I demoed were unstable and didn't make proper snow contact like a metal beamed ski would on hard turns. All of this with the benefit of the lightweight of a wood core ski for versatility. I'd recommend this ski to any aggressive all mountain skier any day.
