Build your own Meier ski or snowboard at the World's First Craft Skiery!

What's more Colorado than building your own ski or snowboard? For the first time ever, Meier Skis is now offering ski and snowboard-building classes! Our expert ski builders will work side-by-side with you to help craft the perfect ski or snowboard for your unique skiing style and ability.

With only 4 people per class (first come, first serve), this hands-on experience takes place over two consecutive days from 12 PM - 5 PM. The class ends with seeing your brand-new ski or snowboard come out of the press! Pickup (shipping available) your finished skis or board one week later and get ready for an unforgettable winter of fun on the slopes on the skis or board YOU built!

Day 1 is all about the components! You'll participate in gluing and re-sawing the core and will cut out your ski or board core and base. Next, you'll attach the sidewall to the core, taper it and more! You'll wrap up day 1 with finished cores and bases.

Day 2 is in the press room (fun!) with graphic and material prep and laying up your brand-new skis or snowboard to cook in our custom built ski press! Come back in a week to peel and cheers your new gear (shipping also available).

BYOSS FAQ

  1. I’ve had a vision for a new shape for a pair of skis or snowboard. Do I get to build whatever I want? No, you must build one of our pre-existing proven models/lengths. With over 20 models, there are a TON of options! You can design your own graphic.

  2. Do I get to pick my own graphic?  Yes, you have a choice of standard, semi-custom and full custom which involves you working with one of our graphic designers. The pricing for the different graphics is listed above, but the process starts by reserving your date with the $1500 deposit. There are only 4 slots per 2-day class!

  3. Do I get to pick my own dates to do this?  No, we have scheduled dates you must choose from.

  4. How long does it take to build my own skis or snowboard? The class is run in two consecutive days for about 5 hours each day from 12 PM - 5 PM. Pickup or shipping is one week later.

  5. Can I have my friend or spouse join me?  We discourage this due to space limitations and for safety reasons. There is a $250/day fee per person if you would like someone to watch while you build your skis. They can only observe (no hands-on).

  6. Are meals and beverages included?  Yes, we keep you well hydrated and well fed to get the job done!

  7. What if I make a mistake and mess up my build?  Our ski builders complete the highest consequence tasks, and you have the choice to opt out of any step you're not comfortable executing. Don’t worry, we’re there to work with you every step of the way!

  8. I’m interested in having my son/daughter do this so wondering if this is possible?  Yes, they must be 16 and have their parent/guardian sign our waivers.

  9. What do I need to wear?  You will need to wear non-slip close-toed shoes. Please wear old shorts/pants/shirt that are comfortable and are okay to get dirty with sawdust, fiberglass, plastics and epoxy. Clothes should not be overly baggy as excessive fabric can present issues with machinery.

  10. Do I need woodworking or other hands-on experience? Although it would certainly be helpful, you do not need any previous experience.

  11. Are the skis and snowboards still under warranty? Yes, you still get our industry-leading 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

  12. I already own Meier Skis. Any deals for me? Yes! You'll get 10% off but the initial deposit is the same. Sorry NO other discounts apply.
