All mountain perfection for those that like to control the finish of the turn. This is the Big Hoss paired down for versatility at 10mm more narrow underfoot to deliver quicker edge to edge. The Wrangler came out of the gate as a super dynamic one ski quiver for intermediate to expert chargers that want to stay under 100 underfoot.
The adaptability of this ski continues to blow us away! Mary Jane bump skiers fell in love with the responsiveness this nimble ski. It has great float in powder and playfulness and ease in early and late season slush alike.
Meier takes quality seriously and that starts with the heart and soul of the ski, the core. We make our own signature wood cores in-house with hard maple, stringers of Colorado beetle-kill pine and aspen. This allows us to examine the quality of the wood that comprises such an important part of the ski, as well as use local woods that prioritizes sustainability.
All of our skis are handmade in Denver, CO at the Meier Craft Skiery and are backed by a 3-Year warranty. Base and sidewall color on ski may vary.

I got a pair of 175 cm wranglers to go with my 185 cm big hoss. These wrangler are the real deal when it comes to an all mountain ski. I’m 6’ 1” 190 pounds and am an advanced skier - I love the 175 cm length since I have the longer and wider big hoss for powder days. They did not feel too short and still had excellent flotation even at my size. The wranglers are quite playful with a low swing weight and are awesome in the bumps and trees when making short/agile turns are a must. They are also very comfortable cruising at higher speeds on groomers and felt very stable. Where these really shine is off piste as they have excellent flotation and send you through variable snow conditions with ease and are effortless to ski. I’m coming from a pair of 88 brahmas and I won’t be skiing those anymore out here in Colorado unless it’s super hard pack or icy conditions as the wranglers are a much more versatile and fun ski and are way less tiring then my heavy brahmas that take a lot more effort to control. If you live out west these wranglers are tough to beat and are handmade by great people right here in Colorado.
I recently had the pleasure of demoing the Wrangler in a 180 length. The ski was fast, fun, and stable. The first thing that I noticed was how well it handled the chop and crud of skiing a few days after a snowstorm in April. I felt panted and stable no matter the speed or quality of the snow. Arcing turns and craving was easy and fun. The short turn radius and ski shape popped me in and out of my turns with pleasure. I had a little trouble with quick turns in the trees, but that may have been a function of the snow quality and the ski length (I normally ski a 174cm) and should not be a knock against the skis. Meier knows how to build a ski and I will certainly be shopping here in the future.
I’ve been blown away by the quality and versatility of these skis. I got the 175. I’m a coach for an NCAA DI program and have been a professional in the ski industry for 30 years. I’ve owned a LOT of skis and ski all over the country. These Wranglers are complete winners. They initiate the turn with ease and predictability. They bend into the arc even and smooth and they have an excellent release into the new turn. I’ve used them on Eastern hardpack, groomed packed powder, powder and spring corn. They have never let me down. I love that they are handmade in the USA by a company that is passionate about the sport and uses sustainable materials. Real wood! Let the masses ski on factory built skis, grab a pair of handmade Meiers with amazing graphics, top quality materials and construction and get out there and rip!
Used these skis demoing in Colorado, and they were perfect. Normally I ride the Mustangs, which are also great, but these Wranglers had me skiing like never before. Perfect carving and beautiful control. Had the 185s out and skied through just about everything this weekend. Was able to pick up speed very well, even in the deep powder which I was not totally expecting. They were an exceptional ride. Love every Meier ski I have touched, better than any other skis I have used in the past. These guys are doing something right! Buy Meier!!!
Late Spring skiing is always a great test on skis. I skied through powder, crud, sludge, ice, and everything in-between. These skis floated over all of it with no issues at all. I highly recommend Meier's and what they have to offer.
